Los Barriles is a small beach town on the Sea of Cortez side of the Baja peninsula that has attracted many expats from the US and Canada. In this video, Kat and I take a road trip from La Paz, thru San Pedro and over to Los Barriles.
As always seems to be the case, we didn’t have enough time to completely explore the town, but we did get to enjoy a laid back lunch on the beach and talk with some ex-pats. We also visited a furniture / home goods store named El toro y la luna (the bull and the moon.) And we bought some new light fixtures for our house in La Paz.
We missed out on sport fishing (not that sport fishing is a thing we wanna do) and sailboarding (not that sailboarding is a thing we have the ability to do.) And we missed out on pickleball (which is something we just get embarrassed when we try doing.)
There are lots of reasons Canadians and Americans retire in Los Barriles. It’s very friendly for people who don’t speak Spanish, but we found it to be more expensive than La Paz.
Have you been to Los Barriles? What did you think?
